Tabitha G Asked: Is it normal to be tired after beginning use of a CPAP?

I have mild sleep apnea and just started using my CPAP. I have no problem sleeping with it and love it. I have now used it two nights and I find that I am sleeping for a very long period of time and that I am still somewhat tired. Is this normal? Also will this decrease as my body adjusts to finally getting normal sleep?

Maybe, you just might not be quite as used to it as you think, may take more time to adjust to it.Hopefully your headaches are gone if you had those, you lose weight probably too:-)

Yes and no. You are sleeping better because you are breathing better. Your age, health and body requirements are what determine how much sleep you need. So with that in mind 7 to 8 hours of sleep is usually the norm.

Give yourself at least 2 or 3 months to settle in. If the condition still bothers you check in with the doctor.
